My 2022 April Fools’ joke that was posted on LinkedIn

More than a simple joke, the image satirizes the relentlessly excessive focus on Toyota in Lean-world, the massive overproduction of books related to Toyota, and the freakish desire to buy said books to gain personal knowledge while doing little or nothing to actually implement was is learned from the books. Hence, as James P. Womack said, “…no new “Toyotas” were created, with an entire lean business system, and the results of isolated leaps were difficult to sustain.” in the 35 years since the term “Lean” came into being.

My 2023 April Fools’ joke that was posted on LinkedIn

More than a simple joke, the image criticizes the ongoing inability of Lean movement leaders to acknowledge Classical management as the principal barrier to the advancement of Lean management, the lack of evolution and improvement in organizations that promote Lean management, the pseudo-academic nature of these organization, and the continued focus on “Lean tools” in preference to kaizen.
